Our service

Climate-Smart Land Use Planning

We design and implement land-use strategies that maximise carbon sequestration, enhance biodiversity,
and increase climate resilience while ensuring sustainable environmental, social, and economic outcomes.

Carbon and Biodiversity Credit Generation

We specialise in creating high-integrity, verifiable carbon and biodiversity credits that meet UNFCCC and voluntary carbon market standards, ensuring they are commercially viable and impactful.

Debt-for-Nature and Climate Swaps

We help nations restructure their debt by exchanging a portion of their external liabilities for commitments to invest in climate and conservation projects. These innovative financial mechanisms reduce debt burdens while driving environmental protection and sustainable development.

Scientific Measurement & Monitoring

We specialise in creating high-integrity, verifiable carbon and biodiversity credits that meet UNFCCC and voluntary carbon market standards, ensuring they are commercially viable and impactful.

Policy & Legal Framework Development

We assist governments in drafting policies that align with global climate goals, facilitating their participation in international carbon markets

Private Sector Engagement

We leverage private sector investment to scale high-integrity projects, delivering substantial environmental and financial returns.

Standardization & Verification

We support the use of common standards and independent verification processes to increase confidence in carbon
and biodiversity credits and support global emissions reduction targets.

Negotiation & Agreement Drafting

We provide expert support in negotiating and drafting trading agreements for carbon and biodiversity credits, ensuring fair and profitable outcomes.

A Model for the World

Gabon’s REDD+ success provides a blueprint
for other nations striving to achieve both economic growth and environmental conservation.

Drop pattern

Gabon serves as a global model for balancing economic growth with environmental conservation.

Through its participation in the UNFCCC REDD+ process, Gabon has demonstrated that strong forest stewardship can lead to both carbon sequestration and economic development. Independent analysis has shown that Gabon absorbs over 100 million tons of CO₂ annually, equivalent to a quarter of the United Kingdom's emissions.

The Pangea Climate Partners founders played a key role in Gabon's success in presenting 187 million tonnes of REDD+ results to the UNFCCC and securing a $150 million agreement with Norway through the Central African Forest Initiative (CAFI).

This agreement recognised Gabon’s significant achievements in reducing emissions and preserving its forests.

400% growth

forest sector revenues

Gabon's strategy of sustainable timber harvesting, where only two trees per hectare are cut every 25 years, has made its timber industry carbon positive while boosting forest sector revenues
by over 400%.

These achievements in the REDD+ process have garnered international recognition.

In 2021, the Financial Times described Gabon as Africa’s "Green Superpower," a testament to the country's pioneering efforts in environmental conservation and sustainable economic development.
